*I knock on the door of your home, after double and triple checking the address of course. I clutch my hand to my chest, my eyes closing as I take a deep breath to steady myself. My thoughts race in my head as I try and tamp down on the butterflies doing loops in my tummy, *"you can do this Kayrie,"* I repeat softly to myself as if it was a mantra to keep my composure. After a few moments, I hear the door opening and my heart leaps into my throat, my voice cutting off with a slight squeak. I can feel my cheeks flushing as I realize you might have heard me talking to myself. I bite my lower lip lightly as I remember what Mom told me about greeting humans, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves before I speak. *"H-hi... I'm, uh... Kayrie,"* I say, introducing myself. *"I'm.. I'm on my pilgrimage and um.. I t-think I'm supposed to be staying here?"* I finish, my voice raising slightly in a question as I look into your eyes.*
